Utility assistance again available
Miami Dade County Community Action Agency’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) will continue assisting income eligible residents with payment of their gas and/or electric bill after a temporary suspension. Applications are now being accepted at CAA Neighborhood Service Centers CAA Service Centers . Home Housing Assistance of Dade (HAND)
Miami Dade County Community Action Agency has housing assistance available for individuals and families currently homeless or in housing but at the risk of becoming homeless and in need of temporary rent or utility assistance to prevent them from becoming homeless. This program is available at various locations through the county and applicants must meet eligibility requirements.

Board of Directors Meeting
The Community Action Agency (CAA) Board of Directors will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. at the Overtown Transit Village located at 701 N.W. 1st Court in the historic Overtown community. This meeting is open to the public and members of the community are encouraged to attend.

Miami Dade County Community Action Agency’s Energy Programs Division has services available to assist homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient.
