Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust (CITT)

The Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust (Transportation Trust) is the 15-member body created to oversee the People's Transportation Plan funded with the half-penny sales surtax.

The Transportation Summit has been rescheduled

The 2017/18 Transportation Summit is scheduled for January 25-26, 2018 at Miami-Dade Community College Wolfson, Chapman Conference Center, 300 NE Second Avenue, Miami, Florida. Sessions are scheduled on Thursday, January 25th 8:30 am – 4:00 pm and Friday, January 26th 8:30 am – 12 Noon.

This event is organized by the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust in conjunction with Miami-Dade County, the Board of County Commissioners, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Miami-Dade County League of Cities, Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization and the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority.

The goal of the 2017 Transportation Summit is to bring together stakeholders, agencies, the community, national experts and transportation professionals to focus on implementing major transportation investments in Miami-Dade County.

Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit Plan (SMART)

The Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit Plan (SMART) was developed by Miami-Dade County and the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and adopted by the MPO Governing Board on April 21, 2016. The SMART Plan is a comprehensive plan which advances six rapid transit corridors to the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study phase to determine the costs and potential sources of funding for the project.

Nominating Committee accepting applications

As an active volunteer of the Transportation Trust, you'll review contracts requesting People's Transportation Plan (PTP) funding, monitor the progress of surtax funded road and transit projects, and monitor the PTP Municipal Transportation Program.

The Transportation Trust welcomes opportunities to inform the public about the People's Transportation Plan, and is ready to send a speaker at your request. Speakers are available for conferences, seminars, classrooms and more.
