Christopher Benjamin, Esq. District 1

Christopher Benjamin has been an Attorney at Law since 2002. He has built a legal practice in civil and commercial litigation, consumer law, criminal defense, civil rights and real estate matters. In the legal field, Attorney Benjamin is a member of local, state and national bar associations where he has worked on several committees related to family law, public interest law and consumer protection.  In addition, he is a certified mediator, realtor and mortgage broker.

Attorney Benjamin has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Florida Memorial University lecturing in the areas of business law, public administration and criminal justice courses. He has also been the CEO and Attorney for a local real estate transactional agency since 2003.

He has an impressive record of volunteer activities having served on the Miami Gardens Mayoral Task Force on Underage Drinking, the Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation Citizens' Advisory Committee, Volunteer Lawyers Project for the Southern District of Florida and the Guardian Ad Litem Program.

Mr. Benjamin has been recognized for his civic and entrepreneurial involvement by the Dade County Bar Association, Florida Memorial University, the United Negro College Fund and was listed in the National Who's Who of Entrepreneurs. He was honored by received the Dade County Bar Association receiving the Outstanding Pro Bono Award from.

Mr. Benjamin intends to use his professional training, entrepreneurial experience and knowledge gained through his civic involvement activities to enhance his effectiveness as a member of the CITT. He was appointed to the Transportation Trust from Commission District 1.
