County Services Division
The County Services Division includes Food Services Bureau, Materials Management Bureau and Information Systems Bureau.
- Food Services Bureau is responsible for providing quality food service to our inmate population and staff in a cost effective manner while remaining in full compliance with all Federal, State and County requirements regarding health, safety and security. The bureau is responsible for the kitchens at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and Pre-Trial Detention Center. The bureau is also responsible for two pantries located at Metro West Detention Center and the Training and Treatment Center. The bureau serves an average of 22,000 meals per day to inmates and staff.
- Materials Management Bureau is responsible for directing activities of the MDCR Warehouse Facility, MDCR Laundry Facility, and Inmate Commissary Unit. The bureau manages the departmental public records storage program, and ensures proper storage/transfer of public records and destruction of records that have met established retention schedules. The bureau provides guidance regarding management of departmental capital property for compliance with Florida Statutes and Rules of the Auditor General of the State of Florida. The Bureau ensures that the Department's 40,000 square foot Warehouse Facility is continually equipped to provide mission essential supplies necessary for the safe and sanitary operation of the detention facilities and auxiliary offices. In addition it is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable procedures and standards relating to laundering and sanitizing linen and inmate uniforms, and distribution of inmate commissary orders.
- Information Systems Bureau is responsible for cost effective identification, development and implementation of new technologies suitable for MDCR. The bureau is responsible for directing activities of the Telecommunications Unit, Data Systems Unit, and Network Unit; and serving as liaison to the Enterprise Technology Services Department (ETSD) on projects that require integration and /or technical support.
