The Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department is comprised of five correctional facilities. These facilities hold on average 7,000 inmates, who are awaiting trial or are serving sentences of 364 days or less.
- Clothing drop offs are no longer being accepted at any facility. All inmates are issued Standardized Departmental Uniforms.
Metro West Detention Center
The Metro West Detention Center has 3,098 beds for male inmates of maximum, medium, minimum custody levels. This facility is the largest in the Miami-Dade County Corrections system.
Pre-Trial Detention Center
The Pre-Trial Detention Center is a Booking Facility, which processes and houses all classifications of inmates. These range from traffic offenders to capital offenders. The facility has 1,712 beds.
Training and Treatment Center
The Training and Treatment Center has 1,265 beds. It houses adult males in both felony and misdemeanor classifications.
Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center
The Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center has 1,300 beds for male and female inmates of various levels of custody. Officers work inside housing units and directly supervise inmates 24 hours a day.
Women's Detention Center
The Women's Detention Center has 375 beds. It averages a daily population of between 300-375 female inmates. Inmates held at this facility vary from pre-trial detainees to sentenced inmates. Women's Detention Center is an accredited facility.
Inmates are allowed to order basic food and hygiene items while they are incarcerated via the Inmate Commissary. Orders are submitted on a weekly basis. The order limit is $125.00 per week.
Inmates released from custody prior to receiving their commissary will have the order refunded to their account within a week. Money in the account may be picked up from the Property Room Public Service Window at the Pretrial Detention Center 1321 NW 13 Street Miami, FL. 33125
