Stipend, Leave Time and Benefits

All interns are Temporary Employees of Miami-Dade County Government and as such are eligible for 13 days of paid time off for personal, sick, or vacation time. Interns are paid for the 12 County recognized Holidays provided they are in pay status the full day before and the day after the holiday. Interns are eligible to take up to ten (10) paid days of educational leave for attendance at conferences, dissertation, and any other related professional/educational activities. They also qualify for conference registration fees as budget permits. Interns are eligible for on-the-job mileage reimbursement. Although interns are not eligible to enroll in the health insurance program through Miami-Dade County, they can apply directly to Miami Dade Blue for insurance coverage. The internship stipend is presently approximately $15,195.44.
