(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Commissioner Dennis C. Moss provided book bags and school supplies to approximately 1,000 south Miami-Dade children on Saturday, August 23 before they went back to school for the 2003-04 school year.  The donations were part of Commissioner Moss' Second Annual District 9 "Back to School Book Bag Giveaway," which was held at Commissioner Moss' South District office, 1634 N.W. Sixth Avenue, and at the Everglades Community Association, 19308 S.W. 380th Street, both in Florida City.

Commissioner Moss worked in cooperation with local, non-profit social service agencies to identify children from moderate- and low-income families between ages 5 to 17 registered in Dade County Public Schools who received the free book bags.
