(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

County Commissioner Dennis Moss will kick off his Mom and Pop Grant Program with a media briefing on Friday, February 28 to announce the $200,000 he is making available to small business owners from five economically challenged areas within his South Miami-Dade district: Goulds; West Perrine; Richmond Heights; South Miami Heights; and Naranja. A five-member selection committee appointed by Commissioner Moss comprised of four South Dade bank executives and an economic development agency representative will choose small business grant applicants from the targeted areas who will receive grants of up to $10,000, depending on the number of qualified recipients.
