Rotary Club of Miami-Kendall Holds Motorcycle Giveaway to Fund Worldwide Polio Immunizations

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
The Rotary Club of Miami-Kendall and County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez are sponsoring a raffle contest for a $19,000, 100-year anniversary Harley-Davidson Fatboy motorcycle on Father’s Day, June 15, at the center stage of the Worldwide Motorcycle Show of Miami to be held at the Coconut GroveExpoCenter. Besides giving Harley-Davidson fans a chance to win the collector’s edition motorcycle, proceeds from the ticket sales will go toward funding immunizations for children in impoverished nations still struggling to eradicate Polio infection. “We’re hoping that this will be a fun charity event for people to bring their fathers to, so maybe they can ride off with a Harley as a Father’s Day gift,” said Commissioner Martinez. The Rotary Club has 500 raffle tickets on sale for $100 each. Through Rotary International’s PolioPlus program, every dollar the Rotary Club raises will be matched five times by the World Health Organization and the Bill Gates Foundation. With Polio immunization shots costing just 50 cents per child, one raffle ticket will pay for the immunization of 1,000 children. To purchase raffle tickets or send donations in advance, call the Rotary Club at 305-279-4445, ext. 250.
