Important Information About Signature Updates

State law requires you to sign the voter certificate on the outside of your absentee ballot envelope.  It is important that your signature on the voter certificate match the signature we have on record.  Since it is common for signatures to change throughout the years, in order for your latest signature to be in our records, please submit a voter registration application in order to update our files with your latest signature.  You can indicate a signature update on Line #1 found on the top of the application.  Signature updates must be completed no later than the start of the canvassing of absentee ballots, which occurs no earlier than the 15th day before Election Day.

Overseas/Military Voters

All Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) voters can easily access answers and important information such as absentee voting regulations, laws, deadlines, and procedures.  The UOCAVA allows the following U.S. Citizens to vote absentee:

  • Members of the U.S. Uniformed Services (on active duty) and merchant marine,
  • Their family members, and
  • U.S. citizens residing outside the U.S.

If you qualify under any of the above mentioned categories, please visit www.fvap.gov. This website provides an overview of the Florida Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) as well as electronic access to many other election materials.  In addition, the site provides election information, access to the online Federal Post Card Application, and links to state government home pages and other sites with election information and results.
