About G2GN
The Grants to Green Nonprofits (G2GN) program is one of thirteen projects funded by the County's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 administered through the Department of Energy. Miami-Dade County created the project to re-grant stimulus funds to help both nonprofit organizations and private businesses. The purpose of the G2GN program is:
- Allocate up to $1,000,000 for pre-approved energy efficiency improvements (on a competitive basis) to the facilities/buildings of 501(c)(3) certified community and faith-based organizations that are located in and serving Miami-Dade County; and
- Utilize local, private, for-profit energy service companies to implement the improvements at the selected sites.
The eight allowable energy retrofit activities being implemented at the sites through the G2GN program may include:

The G2GN program officially released applications in May 2010 and has already selected and identified the organizations that are recommended to receive an energy retrofit project over the course of the next year.
Special thanks to our program partners FPL (Business Energy Evaluation Program) and the City of Homestead (Energy Services and Electric Utility) for their great support and participation in this program. The overall goal of this two-year project is to yield a minimum 5% decrease in energy consumption per energy consuming asset and/or facility.
