Newly redesigned Grant Opportunities portal launched

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
The Miami-Dade County Office of Grants Coordination has launched the new Grant Opportunities portal. The grant portal has been redesigned based on extensive user feedback and is designed to meet the growing needs of local nonprofits, small businesses, governmental organizations, and local residents. The site now offers its users:

  • Direct access to a multitude of current grant opportunities in a searchable online database;
  • A newly designed interface with significantly improved browsing capabilities and real time monitoring of the latest grant opportunities;
  • Improved key word search capabilities and funding category filtering options; and
  • A redesigned, automated subscriber-based, weekly Grant Mail Newsletter providing email alerts of 'ripe' funding opportunities from a variety of funding sources.

Annually, thousands of users visit the Office of Grants Coordination website to: sign-up for the Grant Mail (a free weekly email service with over 4,700 subscribers); search for grant opportunities; utilize the grant tools; read about Request for Proposals (RFP); or to take advantage of the myriad of other features the website offers.

"In a time of limited resources, shrinking budgets, and increasing needs in the community, it was time for a comprehensive restructuring of our grant portal to facilitate local organizations' search for funding," said Daniel T. Wall, Director for the Office of Grants Coordination.  "The new portal is easier to use and provides increased flexibility for future enhancements. I am immensely proud of it."

About OGC
The Office of Grants Coordination (OGC) is responsible for the administration and monitoring of Community-based Organization (CBO) contracts including the Mom and Pop Business Grants Program to ensure compliance; provides training and technical assistance to CBOs; and identifies grant funding opportunities to maximize revenue support to County departments and community organizations.

OGC serves as a one-stop shop to manage CBO allocations and contracts; provide direct administrative support to five advisory boards (Miami-Dade HIV/AIDS Partnership, Youth Crime Task Force, CBO Advisory Board, Dade-Miami Criminal Justice Council, and Addiction Services Board); administer the federal Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act grant; manage other federal grants assigned to the Department; and leverage the County's limited resources through the effective development of alternative revenue sources by identifying, marketing, promoting grant and other revenue generating opportunities such as partnerships and sponsorships.
