Miami-Dade Public Housing Agency (MDPHA) recently celebrated the grand opening of Heritage I, a single-family home development located in the community of Naranja, at 26831 SW 142 Avenue.
Over 100 hundred potential buyers visited Heritage I to view the 27 available units in this gated community. The 5, 4 and 3 bedroom models come with central air conditioning and heat, living and dining rooms with 10 foot ceilings, marble window sills, hurricane/security window screens, and a private perimeter concrete wall. The price ranges from $ 75,000 for a 3 bedroom/2 bath to $ 85,000 for a 5 bedroom/2 bath. Amenities also include a clubhouse and a barbecue with a picnic area.
The homes are being offered to the residents of Public Housing or Section 8 programs. Qualifications require a minimum income of $25,000 and potential buyers will be referred to homeownership consultants who will prepare them to become first-time home buyers. The buyer has to be responsible for 3% of the sales price as a down payment.
The homes of Heritage I are conveniently located close to public schools and Miami-Dade College. There is also public transportation available and a shopping mall and Turnpike entrances nearby.
"This is a good opportunity for residents of Miami-Dade Public Housing Agency to become first-time home buyers" commented Gregg Fortner, Executive Director for MDPHA.
