Miami-Dade County Sister Cities Program to Visit Commonwealth of the Bahamas

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
The Miami-Dade County Sister Cities Program will be going on a Cultural and Business Development Mission to The Bahamas on June 27th through 30th 2007.  Led by Commissioner Dennis Moss, the purpose of the mission is to reaffirm the close cultural, government and economic ties enjoyed by the residents of Miami-Dade County and the Bahamas.  In addition to meeting with senior government officials, the delegation includes businesses from Miami-Dade County that will be meeting with Bahamian businesses who have been pre-screened for matching commercial interests.  The mission agenda was developed in close partnership with Bahamian Consul General Alma Adams in Miami and with the Bahamian Chamber of Commerce in Nassau.

The Commonwealth of The Bahamas is Miami-Dade County’s 18th largest trading partner, with $1.3 billion in trade last year.  Both communities have vibrant tourism sectors and are home to a large number of international financial institutions.
