The Information Resource Center is a data warehouse developed jointly for the JAC by Miami-Dade Police Department and IBM. This warehouse contains data on over 120,000 arrests and allows access to information on the population with a specificity that no community in the United States currently has. It will facilitate the ability to cross data fields so that policy, service and funding decisions can be strategically applied to the needs of the children, their families and the community.
With the Information Resource Center , we can determine how many 14-year-old boys of a particular ethnic group, with prior arrests, live in a particular part of the community, and were arrested for a specific offense such as drug charges or economic crimes. We can then work with funding agents and service providers to develop the programs needed in specific locations of the community that include consideration of all of the factors that should be included in an effective program or intervention.
Crime and Arrest Statistics
Specific data from the Information Resource Center is provided in the above link. This is the basis of the partnership between the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and Miami-Dade JSD.
