The Safe Neighborhood Parks (SNP) Citizens’ Oversight Committee has awarded $200 million from Bond proceeds, plus an additional $11.4 million in Bond interest earnings and recaptured funds, to more than 40 municipalities, not-for-profit agencies and Miami-Dade County. To further the impact of the SNP Bond Program, grant recipients have leveraged their SNP funds with more than $70 million in municipal, state, federal and private funding.
The impact of the SNP Bond Program can be measured by the many park improvements throughout the County. From tot lots to major indoor recreational facilities, millions of dollars have been awarded to enhance the recreational landscape of Miami-Dade County, making parks safer, more attractive and fun for the young and young-at-heart. Center; Chapman Field Park; Crandon Park; Greynolds Park; Ives Estates Park; Southridge Community and Aquatics Center; West Kendall District Park; Tamiami Park; Rolling Oaks Park; Camp Owaissa Bauer; Kendall Indian Hammocks Park; and Homestead AFB Recreational Area.
