The Tax Collector is part of Miami-Dade County’s Finance Department. We collect current and delinquent real and personal property taxes, special assessments for all local taxing authorities, local business tax receipts and convention and tourist taxes. We are also act on behalf of the State of Florida to issue automobile, boat, hunting and fishing licenses.

Reminder Tax Notices
2012 Real Estate Reminder Tax Notices will be mailed on April 15, 2013. The real estate reminder notices reflect all payments made by April 4, 2013. Taxpayers that made payments after April 4 will receive a reminder notice.
2012 Tangible Personal Property Tax Notices will be mailed on April 15, 2013. The tangible personal property notices reflect all payments made by April 4, 2013. Taxpayers that made payments after April 4 will receive a reminder notice.
2012 Quarterly Reminder Tax Notices will be mailed on April 15, 2013. The quarterly reminder notice reflect all payments made by April 4, 2013. Taxpayers that made payments after April 4, 2013 will receive a reminder notice.
2012 Delinquent Taxes
Taxes become delinquent on April 1, 2013. Delinquent taxes must be received in our office by May 31, 2013. Postmarks will not be honored for delinquent taxes. Acceptable forms of payment for delinquent taxes: Cashier's check, money order, cash payments (accepted in Public Service Office), e-checking, and credit card (accepted only online).
Paying by E-Checking
Online Payment by E-checking will be available for real estate and tangible personal property through Friday, May 31st 5:00 p.m EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). Funds must be available for immediate withdrawal for e-checking from a regular checking account. If your payment was cancelled, you will be unable to submit your payment through e-checking. Instead, you must submit you payment by mail or in person at our public service office. In cases where Additional Prior Year Taxes are Owed, the payment button is disabled, therefore, disallowing the taxpayer to pay current year (2012 taxes) and any prior year taxes owed. In cases where a property owner has filed a VAB Petition and has submitted the 75% payment requirement and there is a remaining balance, the payment button is disabled.
Paying by Credit Card
Online Payment by credit card will be available for real estate and tangible personal property through Friday, May 31st 5:00 p.m EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). Credit card payments can be made by Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. A non-refundable convenience fee of 2.35% of the tax amount will be applied to each credit card transaction. In cases where Additional Prior Year Taxes are Owed, the payment button is disabled, therefore, disallowing the taxpayer to pay current year (2012 taxes) and any prior year taxes owed.
Paying by Mail
Payments must be received by Friday, May 31st. If submitting payment by mail, acceptable form of payment for delinquent taxes is cashier’s check or money order. In cases where taxpayers mail a personal check, personal checks will be returned.

Cash payments are accepted at this location. In cases where customers are paying $10,000 or more in cash or money order, a Social Security card is required.
VAB petitioners Required to Pay 75% of Tax Payment by March 31, 2013
Effective July 1, 2011, property owners who file a Value Adjustment Board (VAB) appeal must have paid at least 75% of the assessed Ad Valorem taxes (taxes based on the assessed value of the property) and all of the Non-Ad Valorem Assessments that are for services such as Solid Waste and Fire, by March 31, 2013. Property owners who failed to make the minimum 75% payment by March 31, 2013 will result in the denial of their VAB petition. Online payment by e-checking or credit card are not available for the 75% partial payment requirement. However, online payment by e-check or credit card is available for owners who elect to pay the full amount (100%) of the Ad Valorem Taxes and Non Ad Valorem Assessments.
2012 Tax Notices
2012 Tax Notices were mailed October 31 for collection of property taxes for calendar year 2012. If you do not receive your tax notice by the second week of November, please contact our office at 305-270-4916 or by email at proptax@miamidade.gov for a duplicate tax bill.
