Compliance, Consulting and Education

• providing technical assistance to municipalities upon request
• training on disability issues and the ADA
• information and referral
• serving as liaison between the County and the Commission on Disability Issues
• providing training for and support to the ADA coordinators for all County departments.
• coordinating the disbursement of parking fine monies
• assisting County departments with obtaining material in alternate format such as Braille
• representing the of Office of ADA Coordination in its affiliation with the Disability Business & Technical Assistance Center

• surveying General Services Administration (GSA) managed facilities and working with program staff to determine architectural changes needed to provide program access
• creating AutoCAD drawings and schematic solutions, and hiring and overseeing architects to create plans and construction documents
• providing full administration and construction management to obtain bids and complete construction of barrier removal projects
• reviewing plans for new construction and alterations to County owned properties and properties of county housing programs
• reviewing plans for ADA compliance for others upon request
• participating in training for design professionals and code officials on ADA Accessibility guidelines requirements
• providing information on ADA accessibility requirements
