Office of Community Advocacy to host Getting 2 Zero Miami-Dade Health Fair |

MIAMI – The Office of Community Advocacy recognizing the second annual Getting 2 Zero Miami-Dade Awareness Campaign will host a health fair in the lobby of the Stephen P. Clark Center on Friday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to be tested for various health screenings free of charge. Educational forums of multiple social determinants affecting those living with HIV/AIDS and how they cross paths with other vulnerable populations, HIV and nutrition, opioids and HIV infections, women and PrEP, and mental health will take place from 1:15 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. in conference room 18-2. Miami-Dade County has the highest HIV infection rates in the U.S as of 2017. Last year, Miami-Dade County launched branded condoms, which are available free of charge through our partners in the campaign, the Florida Department of Health. Resolution 622-17 created the county-wide awareness campaign which was unanimously approved by the Board of County Commissioners. With the collaboration of the Florida Department of Health, the goal is to get to zero new HIV/AIDS cases, zero AIDS related deaths, zero stigma, and zero discrimination.
