Breaking News: 

KidCare Bill passes!
Great news!  Both chambers of the Florida Legislature have unanimously passed Senate Bill 918 which will remove barriers to help children get and keep KidCare coverage.  This important legislation will now go to Governor Crist for final signature before becoming law.

Many thanks go to our elected officials who sponsored this legislation, Senator Nan Rich and Representative Jimmy Patronis.  Both have shown great leadership and dedication to children and families in the state of Florida in this bipartisan effort.

About Child Advocate
The Office of the Child Advocate advocates on children’s issues that help to make a difference improving the quality of life for the children in our community. The Child Advocate represents Miami-Dade County on all child related issues on local and state planning bodies, interested groups and service agencies.  Assistance is also provided to community based organizations that serve children and families in implementing the goals established in the Miami-Dade Strategic Plan.
