Tips on How to Address the Board of County Commissioners
Residents and groups that want to be heard on an official agenda item of a regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners (Board) may do so by following these steps.
Citizen's Presentations
A citizen or group may be placed on an official agenda at the request of a County Commissioner or the County Manager. If you or your group wish to bring an issue before the Board, you may request to be placed on an agenda as a citizen's presentation by either contacting your County Commissioner directly or by contacting the County Manager at the following address:
Office of the County Manager
c/o Ms. Dianne Davis, Agenda Coordinator
Stephen P. Clark Center
111 N.W. 1st Street, 27th floor
Miami, Florida 33128
Please include the subject of the presentation, the name of the presenter, a return address and a contact telephone number.
Public Hearings
Any citizen is entitled to speak on any matter appearing on the official agenda under the "Public Hearings" section. On the date of the public hearing, at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the discussion of the agenda item, register with the Office of Agenda Coordination. On meeting days, the Office of Agenda Coordination's staff will be located at a registration table in the lobby of the Commission Chamber located at the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 N.W. 1st Street, 2nd Floor. As part of the registration, you will be asked to complete the appropriate speaker's card:
When it is your turn to speak, step up to the podium and say your name and address in a clear voice.
These are just a few guidelines. Get complete information in the County Commission's Rules of Procedure.
