Accomplishments

  • Worked with the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Miami-Dade County’s Cooperative Extension Office to establish the value of agriculture losses resulting from hurricanes Katrina and Wilma

  • Provided assessment tours for dignitaries to view the hurricane affect on Miami-Dade agriculture

  • Lobbied for State and Federal aide to assist victims of hurricane, Katrina and Wilma

  • Assisted with the post hurricane nursery plastics recycling program

  • Created the framework for Miami-Dade County Purchase Development Rights program
