Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department will Participate with Pet Adoptions in the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Event

Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department will participate in the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) event, December 8th and 9th at Tropical Park.  Miami-Dade Animal Services Department is proud to support this event and be part of this tournament by hosting pet adoptions of homeless pets.  Regular adoption fees will be donated as part of the fundraising initiative, and adoption fees will be waived for veterans. The WWAST, a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, is comprised of young, competitive, athletic veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs post-9/11, while serving their country in the military/war.

Teams from within the community will be participating in the softball tournament including police, fire and military.  The tournament will be a family fun filled day with food trucks, bounce houses, music and shelter dogs and cats looking for a forever home.

Each year, Animal Services receives over 30,000 pets. The goal of this event, as with any event in which the Department participates, is to increase pet adoptions and community awareness and involvement with the shelter.  For more information, visit Animal Services or call 3-1-1.
