Mega Pet Adoption Event
Miami’s Mega Pet Adoption Event is back! This signature event sponsored by the ASPCA will be held Saturday, April 6th, from 9 am to 9 pm and will feature hundreds of homeless pets eager to find a forever home. The marathon adoption of puppies and kitties will kick-off its festivities at 9 am and then continue non-stop with hundreds of wonderful pets at discounted adoption fees. Who will go home with you?
Miami-Dade Animal Services, Humane Society of Greater Miami, and The Cat Network, together with rescue groups from all over South Florida, have once again united forces following the amazing successes of last spring’s Mega Match-a-thon that found homes for 288 animals and the 24 Hour Mega Pet Adoption Event last October that united 438 pets with new families.
“Our goal is to match families with their new BFF (Best Furry Friend),” said Alex Muñoz, Director of Miami-Dade Animal Services. “With hundreds of loving pets for adoption of all breeds, sizes, ages, colors and personalities, everyone should find the perfect dog or cat, or both.”
There will be entertainment, food trucks, a kid’s fun area and much more. Admission to the park is free and complimentary parking is available in the park.
Miami Dade Animal Services
Each year, Animal Services receives over 30,000 pets. Our mission is to save the lives of these pets by reuniting them with their owners, finding new loving and permanent homes, foster parents, or rescue organizations. The goal of this event, as with any event in which the Department participates, is to increase pet adoptions and community awareness and involvement with the shelter. Humane Society of Greater Miami
The Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet is a limited admit, adoption guarantee facility dedicated to placing every dog and cat in our care into a loving home, and to promoting responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs. Adoption guarantee simply means that every animal under our care is safe from the threat of euthanasia for as long as it takes to find them a forever family. We are not government funded and rely on our community for financial support.
The Cat Network
The Cat Network, Inc. (CN) is a Florida 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation dedicated to humanely reducing cat overpopulation by educating the public about the need to sterilize their pets and strays; providing access to low-cost spay/neuter services for stray, homeless and abandoned cats; helping members in their efforts to place adoptable cats in loving homes; and advocating non-lethal population control and humane public policy. The Cat Network was established in June 1995, and its members have since helped sterilize over 70,000 free roaming, community cats using low-cost spay neuter certificates, and placing over 8,000 cats in loving homes.
