Miami-Dade Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr. Sponsors Discounted Adoptions and Free Spay/Neuter Surgeries for Dogs and Cats
In an effort to control the pet overpopulation in Miami-Dade County, Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr., along with the Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department and The Cat Network, as part of the ASPCA Community Partnership, have joined forces to offer 50 PERCENT OFF adoptions and FREE spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats on Sunday, July 21, 2013. The event is taking place at the Milander Park, Recreation Center located at 4700 Palm Avenue in Hialeah, beginning at 8:00 am. Please call 3-1-1 to schedule an appointment for dogs; for cats, call 305-233-9958.
“It is unacceptable that a third of the animals taken in by the Miami-Dade County animal shelter are needlessly euthanized because they are not adopted. In order for our County to reach its goal of eliminating this distressing statistic, we must be proactive in working with our community partners to spay and neuter stray animals and to encourage adoption. I applaud the Cat Network for joining forces with the Miami-Dade County Animal services as part of the ASPCA Community Partnership, and I will do everything I can for our county to reach its goal.” said Miami-Dade Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr.
REQUIREMENTS; NO EXCEPTIONS: Service for Miami-Dade County residents only. A maximum of four (4) appointments per residential address. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided for all dogs and cats. Dogs and cats without a current rabies vaccine will be vaccinated at the time of surgery (only dogs up to 40 pounds are eligible). Cats will have their ears tipped. Veterinarians may decline surgery of any pet due to health reasons.
