Miami-Dade County Animal Services will offer low-cost and free pet adoptions this weekend in honor of Veterans Day

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and Veterans Day, adoption fees, waived year-round for veterans, will be 50 percent off for the general public.

(MIAMI, November 6, 2013 ) – In honor of  our veterans, Miami-Dade County Animal Services (ASD) will offer 50 percent off on all pet adoption fees on Saturday, November 9, 2013 and Sunday, November 10, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Adoption fees are waived year-round for veterans (with proper identification) and their families.

“It is my pleasure and privilege to support such an event that is a tribute to all veterans who fought bravely and honorably for our Country,” said Jose “Pepe” Diaz, County Commissioner and Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Military Affairs Board. “What better way than to find a loving friend for all the brave men and women across Miami-Dade County who have risked their lives to defend this country’s freedom than to come to the shelter and rescue a pet.”

(In observance of Veterans Day, November 11, 2013, we will be closed for business.)
