    Pet Detective Cases Solved

    Case #1:
Cecilia, Pet Detective for Miami-Dade Animal Services, helps reunite "Tutu" the Pomeranian with his people:

"Well... to sum it up, a guy went to the MDAS today looking for a dog for himself, as well as keep an eye out for his mom's missing dog, and saw the "Found Pom" flyer on the shelter's board. He called me and told me he was certain that was "Tutu", his mom's dog who had ran away a couple of weeks ago about a half a mile from where it was found. I suggested that he have someone make a copy of the flyer and show it to his mom.  She knows what he looks like better than anyone! So then I spoke to the mom after she saw the flyer and she was very excited to say "Ese es mi Tutu! Ese es mi Tutu!"

I asked if she had any pics of the dog and to please bring some with her. She said she had a whole album! I then spoke to the lady who was taking care of Tutu and arranged for the possible owner and her to meet later on. Of course I made sure to show up at the same time so I could witness a (possible) happy reunion and take pics. So, it ended up being Tutu and the owner and her son were ecstatic to finally be reunited with him. It turns out Tutu was a very spoiled doggie; he was HAND FED a whole roasted chicken from Winn Dixie EVERY DAY!

And yes, the owner brought at least 30 pics of Tutu in all kinds of outfits and settings.  He was their little  superstar! By the way, after a little speech from me, the owner assured me she would get him neutered, place a tag on him, and microchip him. And everyone lived happily ever after.

    Case #2:
Benji’s owners came to ASD few days ago.  Pet Detective Melissa, explained the process to them. Luckily, they had several pictures of the dog, so she helped them make color copies and create a flyer. The dog was impounded yesterday and Melissa saw him in Pet Harbor, so she came in today to check this pet against the flyer. And yes, it was Benji!
