Gracie

Around Christmas time, my daughter began to ask for a cat.  One all of a sudden appeared at our back door.  We began to feed her, and that was enough for my daughter.  Within a few weeks, we noticed she was pregnant and anxiously awaited the kitten’s arrival.  But before we even saw the kittens, the cat and the kittens were attacked and killed by stray dogs.  Emma was devastated and began to pray each night for a new cat. In February, Emma’s grandparents decided they would surprise her with a kitten from the shelter.  They put one on hold for her and took her the next day to pick it up.  While waiting for our number to be called, we went to the back to see the cats.  There Emma saw Gracie, a 2 month old tricolor kitten.  Your staff allowed Emma to play with her, then gave her a chance to play with the kitten her grandparents had picked out the day before.  Then you allowed her to pick out the one she liked best. We wanted to say THANK YOU for helping us find the perfect kitten for our daughter Emma.

Gracie has quickly become a part of the family. Gracie waits for us at the front window every afternoon and  sleeps with Emma every night.  Thank you for all you do to find good homes for animals and helping families find good pets. 

Lucky  (the cutest cocker spaniel ever)

Hi, we adopted 'Lucky' in October of 2007. For a while, I had been wanting to   adopt. That day I went online and saw this cute doggy with what looked like a "mohawk".

He needed a good bath and some grooming. I wanted him since I saw the picture. When I got to the shelter (30 minutes before closing time) a lady tells me he had already been adopted but to take a quick look at the other dogs. So I did, but then one of the volunteers was walking the doggy with the mohawk back to one of the crates and the guy looked kind of sad. So I asked him if the dog's name was Lucky and sure enough it was him.

Apparently someone had adopted him that same day and brought him back within a few hours.THANK GOD!!! So right away I told him I wanted him and we were able to take him home that same night. =).
In other words, I just want to say thank you to you and all the volunteers at the animal shelter for making it possible.  Now Lucky has a new home where he is loved and cared for and I have a new best friend.

Gracie Mae Campbell (formerly Celia)
Just wanted to update you on Gracie's progress. She is doing great and loves to run and play with her friends at the park. We adopted her back in March, she was the Pet of the Week named 'Celia'. Thank you to you and all of your co-workers for helping to find loving homes for animals!
