Happy Tails

Spock

Spock (formerly named Bimbo) has been a member of our family for the last 18 months since adopting him from Miami-Dade Animal Services in September 2007. He has fattened up and become the ring leader of his fellow feline brothers and sisters at home. Spock can be found running around the house, up and down the three story kitty condo or fast asleep on his favorite couch cushion. We know how happy he is by how loud he purrs when we come home and by all the kisses he gives us. Spock hopes that the rest of kitties and doggies at Animal Services can find good homes and loving mommies and daddies like he did.

Hunter

This is our dog, "Hunter "Chocolate Lab. We adopted him on Jan,5, 2009,  Hunter is a happy, fun and playful dog. He has brought a lot of joy to our lives. We hope that more people will help give some of the lovable dogs at the pound a loving home.

Meloso

I have wanted a dog since I was a child, but my mom never permitted one in our home. She finally agreed with the condition that the dog be small. We searched the website and made a list of dogs we were interested in. My mom went to the shelter to see the dogs on our list. Only one of the dogs was available for adoption so we agreed to put a hold on him. A couple of days later we went to the shelter to get to know our little one. She was hesitant when she saw him. He was bigger than she expected. I was scared of how playful he was. She asked me several times if I was sure I wanted to adopt Ron, our nine-month-old cocker spaniel. Of course, I said. I knew he knew he was going to be adopted and I couldn't let him down.

We agreed to bring him home on September 6th, 2008. We also agreed to change his name to Meloso, which means very sweet. Yes, Meloso lives up to his name. He's a blessing to our family. It has been a beautiful experience to see my mom come to love him so much. He has won her heart. We love to take him to the park and watch him play with the other dogs. We love to watch him roll over so we may scratch his belly. Meloso couldn't have come into our lives at a better time.

Thank you, Miami-Dade Animal Services, for making this possible.

Blessings,

Leidys Pena
