Pet Owners
Animal Services enforces Chapter 5 of the Miami-Dade County Code pertaining to vaccination, licensure, dog bites, acts of cruelty to animals and illegal pit bulls.
If you own a dog or cat in Miami-Dade County, you must comply with Miami-Dade County codes.
Disaster Preparedness for Pets
Before disaster strikes pet owners are encouraged to review the Disaster Preparedness Animal Supplies Checklist to learn how to prepare pets before, during, and after a disaster.
Citations (Civil Violation Notices)
Miami-Dade County pet owners registered with Animal Services are issued courtesy renewal notices advising to vaccinate against rabies and/or renew their rabies. One and three-year rabies vaccines and licenses are available to the public at the Main Shelter.
Lost & Found
Animal Services provides Lost and Found services to the public. If Lost and Found personnel are unavailable when you visit the shelter, the Front Desk personnel will be happy to assist you.
Pet Account Update
If your contact information (name/address) has changed or your pet has passed away, lost or given away, please update your account with out "Pet Account Update" service to prevent erroneous citation from being issued. For more information email us directly.
