Animal Services Department to Participate in a Mega Match-a-Thon 24-Hour Adoption Event

Still looking for a perfect companion? Then join the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department at Tropical Park, located at 7900 Bird Road, in Miami, for a 24-hour, non-stop adoption event scheduled from Friday, March 30, 11:59 pm through Saturday, March 31, 11:59 pm.  Miami shelters and rescue groups will unite forces to save animal lives and will be present with hundreds of deserving dogs, cats, puppies and kittens looking for forever homes.  To view available pets, visit Animal Services.

Thanks to the support and direction of Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department in collaboration with the Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces Department is participating in this event sponsored by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and in partnership with the Humane Society of Greater Miami and The Cat Network, Inc.

“We hope this event will encourage everyone to bring a pet home,” said Alex Muñoz, Director, Miami-Dade Animal Services Department.  “Besides promoting adoption of shelter pets, we will also be educating the public on the urgency of homeless pets and how it affects the community.”

Each year, the Department receives over 30,000 pets.  The goal of Animal Services is to reunite lost pets with their families or find lifelong homes for as many animals as possible.  For more information, visit Animal Services or call 311.
