Animal Services Department to Participate in a Mega Match-a-Thon 24-Hour Adoption Event

Tonight, we begin the Miami Mega Match-a-thon pet adoption event.  You can assist by letting your friends and family know about this first-time ever event and by helping Animal  Services save the lives of hundreds of homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.

Beginning today, Friday, March 30 at 11:59 pm, until Saturday night, March 31 at 11:59 pm, the Miami-Dade Animal Services, Humane Society of Greater Miami and The Cat Network, Inc., together with several local rescue groups, will hold for the very first time a 24 hour marathon where hundreds of deserving animals will be available for adoption. The around the clock adoption event will take place at Tropical Park, 7900 Bird Road, Miami, Florida.

Everyone is encouraged to attend and enjoy a packed schedule of food and refreshments, children’s activities, music, and games.  The event will host the Food Trucks Invasion and around the clock music provided by Avenida Zero Band, Robbie Elias and the Revenge Band, Roky Sofi Band, Scratch Academy, DJ Uneeq, and many, many more. Miami Party To Go, Art Studio Miami, Manny Reyes Martial Arts, and Radio Disney will provide entertainment for the young ones, while Subaru of Miami, Yester Year Classic Car Club and Gables MotorSports will showcase a variety of vehicles for all car and motorcycle enthusiasts and much, much more!

Each year, the Department receives over 30,000 pets.  The goal of Animal Services is to reunite lost pets with their families or find lifelong homes for as many animals as possible.  For more information, visit Animal Services or call 311.
