Free Spay/Neuter Surgeries for Dogs and Cats

Thanks to the support and commitment of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa, and under the direction of Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department in partnership with the Cat Network, will offer FREE spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats on Sunday, April 15, 2012, beginning at 8:00am, at Commissioner Sosa’s District Office, 1000 SW 57th Avenue, in Miami. In order to participate, an appointment MUST be made by calling 3-1-1.

“Many cats and dogs of all ages and breeds are euthanized annually or suffer as strays. Many of these are the result of unwanted, unplanned litters that could have been prevented by spaying or neutering,” said Commissioner Rebeca Sosa.

“The solution to the current overpopulation crisis is to spay and neuter pets. By doing so, pets will live longer and healthier lives,” said Alex Muñoz, Director of Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department.

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 3-1-1. This service is available to all Miami-Dade County residents.

Each year, the Department receives over 30,000 pets.  The goal of Animal Services is to reunite lost pets with their families or find lifelong homes for as many animals as possible.  For more information, visit Animal Services or call 311.
