Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department Adoption Event Saves Record Number of Shelter Pets


In an effort to alleviate overcrowded conditions at the shelter, Miami-Dade County Animal Services held a fee waived adoption event from Friday July 26th through Sunday July 28th.Close to half of the pets in the shelter found new homes thanks to the outpouring of  community support. Typically, Friday through Sunday shelter adoptions result in ninety pets being selected for adoption or rescue. Over the weekend a total of 342 shelter pets found forever homes through adoption and rescue.
