Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department joins Local Pet Sitting and Positive Reinforcement Dog Training Company to Host Low Cost Spay/Neuter Surgeries for Homestead Residents on December 16th

Local Pet Sitting and Positive Reinforcement Dog Training Company, Rocco’s Pack Pet Services, in conjunction with Spay Neuter Miami Foundation, Miami Dade County Animal Services, This is The Dog, Dog Rescue and the Miami Veterinary Coalition to Prevent and End Unwanted Pet Euthanasia, will be offering an entire day of spay/neuter surgeries on Sunday, December 16, 2012.  Surgeries are available to dogs under 50 pounds at a subsidized cost of $45.00.  For an additional $5.00 for each, a microchip and common vaccines will be offered for dogs being sterilized.  Rocco’s Pack Pet Services raised funds during the Coconut Grove Bed Race to sponsor low cost spay/neuter services in Homestead, FL.

“Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department is proud to be part of this initiative and glad to provide the Mobile Animal Clinic to offer these much needed services, as well as educate the community about the importance and benefits of spaying and neutering”, said Alex Muñoz, Director of Miami-Dade Animal Services Department.

Those interested in registering for the services are asked to visit: http://roccospack.com/spayneuter-dont-litter/low-cost-spayneuter-homestead-ymca/.  Only the first 30 who register will be confirmed.  Others will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted in the event of cancellations or for the next spay/neuter day.

Each year, Animal Services receives over 30,000 pets. The goal of this event, as with any event in which the Department participates, is to increase pet adoptions and community awareness and involvement with the shelter.  For more information, visit www.miamidade.gov/animals or call 3-1-1.
