Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department Seeks Assistance in Locating Stolen Dog

The Animal Services Department is seeking assistance in locating the couple responsible for the theft of Django, a one year old intact male Belgian Malinois. The dog was stolen from the shelter on May 14, 2013 at approximately 5:00pm. Surveillance video captured the dognapping duo as they made their getaway through a restricted access exit.

“The Department is extremely concerned for the welfare of the dog.  We are diligently working to ensure his safe recovery,” said Alex Muñoz, Director, Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department.

Anyone with information related to the identity of the individuals or the current location of the dog is encouraged to contact the Animal Services Investigations Unit at 305-418-7172.

Each year the Department receives more than 36,000 pets. The goal of Animal Services is to reunite lost pets with their families or find lifelong homes for as many animals as possible. Related links: Animal Services or call 311.
