Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department Now Offers Appointments For Spay and Neuter Surgery
(MIAMI, September 11, 2013) –To better serve the public, Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department (ASD) is now offering spay and neuter services to the public by appointment. Walk-ins will only be accomodated on Sundays on a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments may be scheduled online at this web link: http://www.miamidade.gov/animals/spay-neuter.asp or by calling 3-1-1. ASD offers spay and neuter services for Miami-Dade County residents at a reduced price Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for dogs and Thursdays and Fridays for cats (excluding County holidays)
The reduced fees for pet sterilization are made possible thanks to donations made to the Animal Services Trust Fund.
Dogs
- $30 spay/neuter service available for pet owners whose dogs weigh less than 50 lbs.
- Surgeries for dogs are offered every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Cats
- $15 spay/neuter service
- Surgeries for cats are offered every Thursday and Friday
All pets over 4 months of age must be vaccinated against rabies and licensed prior to surgery
No food or water after 10:00pm the night before surgery for dogs or cats
All pets must be a minimum of three (3) months of age and over 3 lbs.
