Miami-Dade County Animal Services and the City of Doral Animal Population Steering Committee will offer free spay/neuter surgeries for cats on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at J.C. Bermudez Park


(Miami, March 19, 2014) – Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department, is teaming up with the City of Doral Animal Population Steering committee to offer free spay/neuter surgeries for cats on Saturday March 22, 2014, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at J.C. Bermudez Park, 3000 NW 87th Avenue, Doral FL 33172.

The spay/neuter surgeries are by appointment only.  Appointments for this event can be made by calling 3-1-1. Cats must be dropped off at 7:30 a.m., and will be ready to be picked-up at 4:00 p.m.
"To spay or neuter your pet is one of the most important things a responsible pet owner can do," said Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz. "I hope my residents take advantage of this free event."
“Events such as these are part of the many efforts being made to reduce the number of unwanted animals in the county and help Miami-Dade Animal Services achieve its no-kill goal,” said Alex Muñoz, Director of Miami-Dade County Animal Services.

Requirements; No Exceptions:  Service for Miami-Dade County residents only. A maximum of four appointments per residential address. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided for cats. Cats without a current rabies vaccine will be vaccinated at the time of surgery. Veterinarians may decline surgery of any pet due to health reasons.
