Mega Pet Adoption event a mega success! 216 dogs and cats found forever loving homes

(Miami, FL) - On Saturday, April 19, 2014, a total of 216 dogs and cats found loving forever homes during the 2014 Mega Pet Adoption event in Tropical Park. The pet adoption event is a collaborative effort of Miami-Dade County Animal Services, The Humane Society of Greater Miami, and The Cat Network.

Pet adopters were able to choose from hundreds of adorable pets as they enjoyed a fun and festive atmosphere that included live performances and even an Easter egg hunt.

''The success of events like this one highlights the value of bringing pet adoptions into the community and the impact it has on saving the lives of shelter pets. Each person who took a pet home should be considered a hero,'' said Alex Munoz, Director of Miami-Dade County Animal Services.

Potential adopters that couldn't make it to the Mega Pet Adoption event are encouraged to visit the shelter at 7401 NW 74 Street Miami, FL 33166, to make a connection with, adopt, and fall in love with a shelter pet.
