Miami-Dade County Animal Services and Commission Vice Chair Lynda Bell will offer free spay/neuter surgeries for dogs at the Crossings Shopping Complex on Saturday, August 23, 2014

(MIAMI, August 20, 2014) – Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department (ASD) and Vice Chair Lynda Bell are teaming up to offer free spay/neuter surgeries for dogs  on Saturday, August 23, 2014, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Crossings Shopping Complex, 13017 SW 112th Street, Miami FL 33186. 

''We are very pleased to bring free spay/neuter services into the community,'' said Vice-Chair Bell. ''Spaying or neutering of pets is crucial to the efforts being made to reduce the number of abandoned animals in the county and help Miami-Dade Animal Services achieve its no-kill goal.''

Spay/Neuter surgeries are by appointment only.* To schedule an appointment for dogs, please call 3-1-1. Dogs must be dropped off at 7:30 a.m. and picked-up at 4 p.m.

*Requirements. No Exceptions: Service is for Miami-Dade County residents only; a maximum of four appointments per residential address; and proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided for all dogs.  Dogs without a current rabies vaccine will be vaccinated at the time of surgery (only dogs 40 lbs. and under are eligible).   Veterinarians may decline surgery of any pet due to health reasons.
