Miami-Dade Animal Services and Lehman Subaru partner to "Share the Love" and find forever homes for shelter pets
An estimated 70 percent of Subaru owners have pets; more than any other auto manufacturer
(MIAMI, Dec. 8) – Miami-Dade County Animal Services (Animal Services) will join the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Subaru of America for the annual year-end Subaru “Share the Love” event and celebration, which runs through Jan. 2, 2015. As part of this national effort, Animal Services and Lehman Subaru have teamed up to host a fee waived adoption event, on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lehman Subaru dealership 21400 NW 2nd Avenue Miami Gardens, FL.
All pets adopted are spayed/neutered, dewormed, are given age appropriate vaccinations, and microchip.
Along with the waived adoption fees made possible by a $2,500 grant from the ASPCA®, Animal Services will also offer free vaccinations and microchips for all owned dogs. In addition, vouchers for free spay/neuter services will be available for pet owners with unsterilized pets.
License tags for owned dogs will be available for purchase at $27 for sterilized dogs and $55 for intact dogs.
For every new Subaru purchased or leased during the “Share the Love” event, Subaru donates $250.00 to the owner’s choice of participating charities, one of which is the ASPCA®. The ASPCA® will be distributing its donation to support animal welfare organizations and life-saving programs across the country and Animal Services is pleased to be a recipient of one of these grants.
“Every week, on average, 500 dogs and cats are abandoned by their owners at Animal Service,” said Alex Muñoz, Director of Animal Services. “These funds are a great help in helping us expand our programs and reach our no kill goal here in Miami-Dade County.”
