(MIAMI, Dec. 11) –Miami-Dade County Animal Services (Animal Services), received $155,000 in grant allocations from the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) for 2015. The grant funds will help create new programs and expand existing programs that help save the lives of the pets abandoned at the Animal Services shelter.

“We are honored and grateful for this generous grant from the ASPCA®. This grant will help us expand veterinary treatment of adoptable pets, develop a foster care program for neonate kittens, and increase efforts for senior pet adoptions,” said Alex Muñoz, Director of Animal Services. “The funds will also help increase and improve mobile spay neuter services and purchase a new mobile spay/neuter vehicle.”

The funds are part of a grant proposal submitted in conjunction with the Humane Society of Greater Miami (HSGM) and The Cat Network (TCN) as part of the ASPCA® Miami-Dade County Florida Partner Community. The total funds allocated in the grant are $190,000.
