Volunteer Eligibility Requirements

Individuals who wish to volunteer their time and services to Animal Services must complete the following:

• Attend a Volunteer Orientation.
• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older (or 15 if volunteering with a parent or adult volunteer).
• Successfully pass a criminal history background check. Volunteers are responsible for paying the fee of $33.25 per person. The fee must be payable to the Board of County Commissioners, Animal Services Trust Fund. The fee can be paid at orientation. (Note: American Express not accepted. Please bring exact change if paying cash.)
• Adhere to the volunteer dress code (long khaki pants, closed toe shoes, and volunteer t-shirt that will be provided).
• Be able to effectively communicate in the English language.
