Volunteer Orientation

Please review the Eligibility Requirements page. See the available sessions below. No rsvp is needed. Please arrive on time. The orientation is held in the conference room of the Animal Services shelter. This is the only location available for volunteering.

Orientation Sessions
The 2-hour orientation sessions are held at the following times:

  • Thursdays at  5 p.m.
  • 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, 10 a.m. to noon. (Please note: The November 25th session is cancelled)

Pet Detective Orientation:
Help reunite lost pets with their family at the shelter or from your home! Contact Melissa Sorokin at msoroki@miamidade.gov for the orientation schedule.

Puppy Fosters Orientation:

  • Every Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
  • Every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 12:00 p.m. (after volunteer orientation)
