What is Pipeline and who does it cover?
Coverage:
In accordance with the Layoff Procedures Manual, Human Resources will provide resources to assist employees who have been impacted by layoff and have no classified service rights or are unable to exercise their classified service rights.
About the Process:
The process is designed to assist you in your search for new employment opportunities within Miami-Dade County and with other employers. This transitional assistance does not guarantee job placement or preservation of compensation or benefits. Therefore, you must make every effort to look for employment opportunities on your own.
Transitional Assistance:
We will help you in the following ways:
- In order to build your resume and tell us about all your education and experience, apply "Without a Job" in the online eJobs System site.
- The recruitment process will be facilitated by advising hiring departments of employees who have been displaced. Referrals will be limited to lateral or lower level positions. Promotional positions will be filled through the standard recruitment process; however, employees in the Pipeline may be referred to promotional positions that are being filled competitively.
- County departments will be contacted by Human Resources and encouraged to grant interviews to displaced employees. It will be the Department's discretion to extend an interview and/or job offer.
- Should the above efforts prove unsuccessful; you will be able to apply for "County Only" recruitments for up to two (2) years after separation from County service.
While in the Pipeline Assistance Program, if a position is offered and not accepted, participants will forfeit any additional assistance through the program for this round of layoffs. Participants who are selected to continue employment in the classified service must serve a new probationary period. No further assistance will be provided if the probationary period is not successfully completed.
