As a member of the Labor and Employment Section, Joni Mosely represents the County in employment discrimination litigation in both federal and state court. Her practice includes handling matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and representing the County in arbitrations and administrative hearings concerning employee discipline and collective bargaining agreements. In addition, Joni represents the Consumer Services Division in matters involving business regulation and employer wage theft.
Prior to joining the Labor and Employment Section, Joni practiced in the Torts and Medical Malpractice Section defending the County and the Public Health Trust against allegations of premises liability, automobile negligence, and medical negligence. Her experience also includes defending police officers in false arrest and excessive force cases, drafting legislation, handling commercial matters, and serving as counsel for the South Florida Workforce Investment Board and the Construction Trades Qualifying Board.
Joni is an experienced litigator having tried numerous jury and judge trials since becoming a member of the Florida Bar in 2003.
