Rachel Walters joined the County Attorney's Office in 2013. Rachel works in the Tort & Medical Malpractice section, defending premises liability and automobile negligence matters. She has also obtained favorable jury verdicts in 42 U.S.C.§ 1983 cases.
Rachel is a litigator with nine years of experience who formerly practiced with the State Attorney's Office, as an Assistant State Attorney. As a State Attorney, she was the Chief of Litigation for the Misdemeanor, Traffic, and DUI section. Rachel was also a felony division chief, and a member of the Robbery/Career Criminal Unit, Traffic Homicide Unit, and Gang Unit. As a Gang-related homicide prosecutor, she handled complex, multiple defendant homicide and death penalty cases. Rachel has tried more than sixty jury trials, and hundreds of bench trials. She has received four prosecution awards of honor and has conducted over twenty-five lectures, including lectures for CLE credits.
