Charles Anderson, CPA
As Miami-Dade County’s Commission Auditor, Mr. Anderson is responsible for reviewing the extent to which legislative policies are faithfully, efficiently and effectively implemented. Mr. Anderson reports directly to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). His responsibilities include performing audits provided for by County ordinance; submitting annual work plans to the BCC for their approval; responding to oral requests for assistance from members of the BCC; and review County department budgets, analyze both the Mayor’s and Manager’s proposed budgets, and make appropriate recommendations to the BCC.
Mr. Anderson began working with the County in 2004. He had been an inspector general with the State of Florida for ten years. Prior to that, Mr. Anderson spent seven years as a Senior Auditor for the City of Tallahassee.
Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Inspector General. Mr. Anderson is affiliated with the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of the Inspectors General, and the National Association of Black Accountants, of which he was the past President of the Tallahassee Chapter.
