The Black Affairs Advisory Board has several committees which are reflective of the issues and concerns of its residents. These committees are:

Some of the activities of these Committees include: Black History Month events which features a month long celebration and award-winning exhibit in the lobby of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center; Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. observance; the Annual “Pillars Awards and Young Pillars Scholarship” awards; the sponsorship of “Village Dialogues” which deal with education, health care, youth, elderly and domestic violence and preservation of health and financial assets.
The Board was also instrumental in creating a “Truancy Hotline” in conjunction with Miami-Dade Public Schools” to combat truancy and has collaborated with an “Anti-Violence Ambassador” to illustrate the impact of gun violence.
