The Black Affairs Advisory Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month (with the exception of December) in the Stephen P. Clark Government Center. Meetings begin at 10:00 a.m., and the Board welcomes input from their constituents. The Black Affairs Advisory Board is also responsible for compiling and publishing a profile of the Black World Community as well as other pertinent data.
The Black Affairs Advisory Boards serves in an advocacy and advisory capacity and stands on the principle that all citizens should be educated, involved and served by its local county government. Further, the BAAB believes that the Black World Community should be proactively involved in the process by which they are governed and receive services.
The Black Affairs Advisory Board welcomes the opportunity to serve the dynamic, diverse group which comprises the Black World Community in Miami-Dade County. Over the past three decades, South Florida has experienced rapid growth and an increase in residents who represent the African Diaspora—specifically those from the Caribbean, the continent of Africa and South America.
